Following a long tradition of this blog, dating back to 2006, here is my 2013 seen through the cities I've been to, for work or vacation (but mostly for work). The rule is: Places I've visited in 2013 for at least one night (plus some relevant daily trips), in chronological order . At times, the reason for the trip is listed.

  • Piacenza, Italy (which is where I live)
  • Barcelona, Spain
  • Scotts Valley, California (Embarcadero office)
  • Amsterdam, Netherland
  • St. Petersburg, Russia
  • Scotts Valley, California
  • Santa Cruz, California (still heading to Scotts Valley each day -- 2nd trip, same month!)
  • London, United Kingdom (family vacation)
  • Frankfurt, Germany (Delphi Dev Days)
  • Amsterdam, Netherland (Delphi Dev Days)
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Santa Cruz, California
  • London, United Kingdom
  • Near Bellagio (Como Lake), Italy
  • Barcelona, Spain
  • Alicante, Spain
  • Gropparello, near Piacenza (Italy)
  • Turin, Itay (daily trip)
  • Venice, Italy
  • Paris, France
  • Istanbul, Turkey
  • Prague, Czech Republic
  • Leipzig, Germany (Delphi Tage)
  • Santa Cruz, California
  • Nyborg, Denmark
  • Copenhagen, Denmark
  • Rome, Italy (daily trip)
  • Lucca, Itay (daily trip)
  • Cologne, Germany (EKON)
  • Verona, Italy
  • Luxembourg
  • Antwerp, Belgium (Be-Delphi)
  • Santa Cruz, California

Of all of this long list, the new countries I've been to were Russia and Luxembourg, while new cities included also Istanbul (where I've spend most of my time stuck in monster traffic jams). Needless to say, traveling went up quite a bit this year, which is not surprising given my new job at Embarcadero.

Travellers or not, let me personally wish each of you readers a great 2014, full of joy, satisfaction, and peace. And trips to places you love.
