Yesterday Embarcadero has announced a new update for Delphi XE2 Help (newer than the one distributed with Update 4) and has promised a hot-fix for Update 4 itself.

On a separate announcement, Delphi product manager JT has blogged about Update 4 hot-fix coming right up. This hot fix will address "a few FireMonkey rendering issues like
list control performance issues, fuzzy fonts due to over-aggressive anti-aliasing on some systems" and is due in the coming weeks.

XE2 Help Update Available and Update 4 Hot-Fix Announced
I wish they would spend a bit more time on this fixes,
thankfully we don't have XE2, but if we had, all this
install/uninstall would have driven us crazy!!
I don't know who is behind this "do it fast" strategy, but
s/he is not doing a good job at all, let the developers
(which are HUMAN not machines) do their testing and provide
a lightweight and fast update!
The whole uninstall/reinstall pretty much defeats the whole
RAD idea...

Happy of me for having resisted to the sale compaign
of XE2! I stick to XE because of european prices
(1$=1€) consideration by Embarcadero that lead many of
independant developpers to jump above one version to
an other!

Regarding reinstalling the whole IDE:
It needs a few minutes more, yes, but after applying the
install script for our components and settings I know
that I have a clean updated version. So it has
advantages too.
Regarding the european prices:
If I remember correctly the price for the software
assurance is a bit less than half the price for an
upgrade. So if you upgrade every second version, you pay
even more than one that upgrades every version by using
the software assurance.
