CodeGear has announced the availability of RAD Studio 2009, as you can see at http://www.codegear.com/products/radstudio. RAD Studio 2009 is the combination of Delphi 2009 (for Win32), C++Builder 2009, and the soon-to-be-available Delphi Prism (for .NET). On the price page I noticed there is an upgrade path for owners of Delphi 2009 (Win32 only) and for owners of the Delphi + C++Builder bundle.
There is an offer including my Delphi 2009 Handbook in ebook format. It looks like registered users will be able to download the ebook version of my volume (which covers only the Win32 side of the product). The newsletter I received stated:
Reserve your copy of RAD Studio 2009 today and get Marco Cantu’s “Delphi 2009 Handbook” at no charge.*
* After you install and register your RAD Studio 2009 product, you can go to the RAD Studio registered users download page at http://cc.codegear.com/reg/radstudio to download your free copy of the "Delphi 2009 Handbook" ebook.
I don't know if this offer has any geographical limitation (it looked a US mailing, but it didn't state US-only, so it should work for Europe and the rest of the world as well) and don't know if there is a time-limit... but I knew a deal was coming.
Needless to say this means the book is almost ready, and will soon be available also in the printed version from lulu.com. Stay tuned for an announcement.
