CodeGear has updated its web site with the new logo and style.
Just a quick note to tell those who didn't notice that CodeGear has updated the graphic and style (not much the content) of its web site, www.codegear.com. I think I like it, although on a very large browser window it looks a little empty... I should be off work today, have a lot to post, but will do that tomorrow.

I don't quite like it: I don't like the colors, I
don't like the logo, I don't like the banner, I don't
like the fonts! The content is poor, the browsing menu
is old-sylish. Summing up, it seems very amatorial. I
wouldn't like it even if it was my site, all done by
myself. CodeGear's site can be better that that!

Yeah I gotta agree with the first comment.
The black and red looks terrible. The contrast is
poor and it looks pretty amateur, as well as
appearing either satanic or gothic in its approach.
Ugh!

I agree with the others.... the site is really
uncomfortable to the eyes with all the red and black.
I also don't like the logo.

There are some pros and cons I think.
I like...
- Clean look,
- Looks more modern, no longer that 1980's corporate
feel,
- Consistent look & feel for the most part across the
pages,
- Liquid layout.
Things I don't like as much...
- Markup still too table-heavy,
- Some padding issues with sidebars,
- Search and log on aren't liquid with the header,
- Logo looks like it was pulled from a badly scaled
raster image instead of a being drawn in Illustrator
and then scaled to the correct size as a vector, then
saved to raster,
- Red used for headings needs to be darkened up or
slightly desaturated,
- Header fonts in left sidebar too big.
Basically I like the "big picture" and I can see
where they were going, but there are some little
details that just don't quite give it that sense of
polish.

I don't like it. Infact i can't even look at it. It
is a strain for the eyes. For example see this link
http://www.codegear.com/downloads/free
It reminds the very popular "Ads by Google" style of
advertising and i usually don't mind reading this
while i am browsing. I bet many of you too.
