Another particular thing I've learned in this trip in Kuwait is how strange is a currency with "millicents". I've used a low-values currency (the Italian Lira), I've been in many places around the world, but this is the first time I use a currency with no cents, but divided in thousands, or Mills ... actually called Fils. Having prices like "1 and 300" sounds very unusual.

That's probably because the Kuwait Dinar (colloquially called "KeeDee" for its initials) has the highest values currency unit of the world. The current value is about 3.50 US dollars, and just below 3 Euros. It is also the only currency I can remember having used with bills valued below the unit. In fact there are bills for half a Dinar and a quarter Dinar (see below):

 

What I find interesting, that there are thinks one takes for granted... while in a different part of the world is the opposite to be a standard. Like having thousands of... cents!
