Note 40 (page 99): More than to classes, records are similar to the old object type, which predates Delphi as it was the way to define classes in Turbo Pascal. The object type is still supported on Delphi 2007 for Win32, while it is not available in Delphi for .NET. If you still have code based on the object type it is probably about time to move it to records.
