Note 102: A rather new entry worth exploring, even if it is tailored to Web development and not for Win32, is the G Framework (http://g-framework.org), the only tool in this list I've not effectively used myself. This object-relational mapping framework is modeled after Rails, the well-known (and much hyped) framework for the Ruby language.
