A very nice "reading" of the sale of CodeGear to Embarcadero.
Verity Stob in "A reading from the second book of Codh" has the usual terrific and truth-telling poem about the sale ot CodeGear to "Encheladoramawhat" (Embarcadero). Hilarious and truth-telling (like the explanation of the term "kylixed")... you must read it!

Borland Dumps the Bit Twiddlers, by Verity Stob
This is old hat. Nick Hodges referenced it in his blog
ages ago.

Borland Dumps the Bit Twiddlers, by Verity Stob
Funny, but was actually published 6 weeks ago.
Anyway go read the new Verity Stob article "How to be
an instant Web me-2.0 developer" from last Monday
2008-07-07. Nice take on the state of web app
development and web apps less than optimal UI. The
article do reference Delphi as well.

I'm glad somebody finally pointed out the .NET Emperor
with no clothes. While .NET is all the rave, has
(what?) 80% of the job market, and is the "all-in-all"
if you want to be a software developer in the future,
I STILL think Delphi is the best damn software
development tool I've ever used. While it doesn't
have all of the built-in niceties (like native support
for all bitmap file formats), it has a GUI builder and
IDE that beats Visual Studio hands down! I hope this
transition is a positive one for CodeGear, and that
the product survives and thrives in the future.
