More information and videos about the "Delphi Live! 2009" conference held last week in San Jose are now available online, from various sources (and I still haven't posted my --very few-- pictures). The most relevant video is probably the recording of the "repeat session", with all keynote slides, from the seminar given yesterday by CodeGear. The registration download is available on CodeCentral as 26915. In it, you can hear David I introduce Embardero and the role of Delphi within the company (the first 15 minutes mostly cover AllAccess). From minute 25, Nick Hodges provides an overview of Delphi today (Delphi 2009 and Prism). From minute 43, Mike Rozlog introduces the new projects under development, providing a roadmap for the coming versions of Delphi (with no dates, though). Starting at minute 61 there are questions. If all you are looking for is insight in future projects follow from minute 43 to 60. These were the same slides presented during the Delphi Live 2009! keynote. Jim McKeeth keeps posting videos. His third part of the "what's cooking the labs" session, found here, covers more IDE features and the new Direct2DCanvas class. Everyone is very thin in this video! The fourth part (available here) has info about the coming extended RTTI and Project “X” -- a Delphi application running on Mac OSX. This fourth part is also on YouTube (with regular-size speakers), and it has the minimal Mac demo:
Pawel Glowacki posted quite a few pictures on his blog and he has a very good summary of the key sessions of the conference, with many technical details. Finally, Daniel Magin posted a log of information and some very nice videos on his blog. Refer to his blog for the complete list, but I couln't keep myself from linking (from YouTube) the two most relevant. The first is a simple Delphi multi-touch application:
The second is an extention of good old FishFact demo with gestures support: You move your finger or mouse with an angle bracket path to move to the next or previous record:
So people who missed the conference can really see a lot of what's happened. For those in Europe, though, DavidI will hit a few countries giving some of those sessions live.
