I noticed and want to share a recent email from a LinkenIn group (the Delphi and Pascal Developer Group, you might be subscribed to for viewing) with many open Delphi jobs. From this source and a few others, I've noticed a significant movement in Delphi jobs, which is a very good sing. The impression is that there are more problems finding Delphi developers than finding a job if you are good at Delphi, but this certainly varies in different regions around the world. In any case, if you are looking for a Delphi job, consider LinkedIn (and if you want connect to me at my public profile)

It sounds very hopeful that Delphi developers are in
need again. Thank's for all the community efforts
being made constantly to make Delphi popular.

I was actually just talking with my boss yesterday (a
handful of us went out to lunch together) and he
mentioned that we've got a lot more development budget
than actual developers, and it's tough to find good
Delphi coders these days. Our hiring standards are
very high, because we write industry-leading software
in a competitive field, but that means that if you get
hired you'll be working with a very good team.
Check us out at www.wideorbit.com if you're looking.
It's a genuinely good and enjoyable place to work.

Mason
What I take from your comment is that you are underpaid!
:)

Mason,
there is some truth in your comment... even if I'm my
own boss! At times I don't feel my efforts are fully
compensated, but its mostly my decision to do what I
do... like spending time writing books <g>. I'd need an
agent to sell my time!

Jack: *shrug* Maybe so, but I've really got nothing
to complain about in that area. I'm making enough to
support myself and save up a little extra every month,
and that's good enough for me.
And we really could use some more good developers.
Being the industry leader in an enterprise area
(broadcast media management software) means that we've
already got most of the easy clients on our system.
Most of the rest tend to be the ones who haven't
switched to us yet because they've got gap lists, and
that means new features to implement. It's a lot of
fun if you enjoy programming, but it's a lot of work
and no one would complain if we could spread it around
between a few more people.
