On June 4th, my company is running (with some help from Embarcadero and others) a yearly meeting of Italian Delphi developers, now in its 8th edition. The event is called Delphi Day 2009 and you can find more inforamtion (but only if you read italian) at www.delphiedintorni.it/delphiday2009.html. In summay, we should have David I as special guest (for the third time out of 8 editions), I'll be covering the status of Delphi, and we'll have a Microsoft speaker presenting Windows Seven and its new APIs for developers.
In the afternoon we plan having 10 short sessions introducing a bunch of components and tools used by Delphi developers (some of which are also sponsoring the event, along with main sponsors Embarcadero TEchnolgoies and Sybase iAnywhere). The list of components, and the list of sponsors, are still not complete... shuold be in a week or so.
The event started as a free event, with optional lucnh, but we have now moved to a low-cost event: 50 Eur (about 65 USD) pay for a real lunch (I mean, sitting at a table, with service) a USB key with event materials, and printed handouts. Plus prices given away by some of the sponsors, and some great discounts. It will be a nice event, at which we are expecting about 100 Delphi developers.
