The Delphi 2009 trial version is available and comments are starting to appear...
The Delphi 2009 trial version is available at http://cc.codegear.com/Free.aspx?id=25876
. There is also an ISO download, even if not linked. See comment 12 to Nick's post http://blogs.codegear.com/nickhodges/2008/09/10/39123.
Comments are starting to appear. There is a nice and balanced blog post by Jolyon Smith at http://www.deltics.co.nz/blog/?p=321. I'm sure he won't remain alone... I haven't downloaded the trial myself, so I don't know <g>.

Delphi 2009 Trial
I tried downloading the new Delphi 2009 while i was
out of town on business. The download took for ever,
and when I finally was able to install it, the Help
File install crashed my computer twice. When I got
home, I installed it on my desktop. After what seemed
like an hour or so to get everything....., the
installer would not let me install it on my desktop,
because it said i reached the max number of
installations for my registration number. So now, i
have a version on my laptop, with no help...and one
on my desktop which wont work. BOTH are 14 day
trials. Why would they put some restrictions on a
trial. Anyway, we did away with our Delphi 2007
version last year because of the help. We reverted
back to our ever trusty Delphi 7. This year, we wont
make the same mistake. We will not purchase Delphi
2009. Codegear (Embarcadero) needs to get their gear
right!

Delphi 2009 Trial
The problems goes back to Delphi 2005. At that time,
Borland introduced much 3rd party technologies: BDS
IDE, Help doc explorer system
(Microsoft),InstallAware, etc.
Those never work relieable...on the other hand Delphi
7 was fast, almost bug free and so snappy!

The first time i installed D2009, my network
connection got disconnected (my network problem).
Since then, i cannot install any DB controls at all.
