An addition to the program of Delphi Developer Days in 2011 will be the presence of a guest speaker in each city. Last year in Chicago we invited Ray Konopka, who lives in the area, to give a "guest speaker" session at the DDD event, and this was very well received by the attendees. So this year Cary and I decided it was worth making the appearance of a guest speaker part of the official program in each city.
At each stop we'll have special short pitches by our Platinum Sponsors (Embarcadero Technologies for Delphi and Sybase for Advantage Database System). We'll probably have Anders Ohlsson visiting the US stops, and some of the local European technical people for the European stops. But the specific new feature, as I mentioned, is the presence of guest speakers who we'll have a full session on a topic they picked. In each city the guest speaker session will be at the end of the first day, after an open Q&A they are invited to attend along with us. This is the current plan in terms of cities, topics, and speakers:
April 11: DC/Baltimore:
Delphi and Unit Testing
Nick Hodges, Gateway Ticketing Systems
April 14: Houston: Delphi Prism (+Mobile) and Delphi Native Interoperability
Jim McKeeth, RemObjects Software
May 12: Frankfurt: Delphi IntraWeb iPhone/iPad Web App Development
Bruno Fierens, TMS software
May 16: Amsterdam: Bui
lding Web and Mobile Applications with VCL for the Web
Bob Swart, Bob Swart Training & Consultancy
There is still room for attending in each city (but the European locations are filling up), so you might want to pick your Delphi Developer Days event depending on the date, the city, but also the guest speaker you're most interested in following... since the rest of the program will be identical in each city.
