Two days ago I finally got the author copies of my last book, Mastering Borland Delphi 2005, delivered at my home, in Italy. I used to get a few advanced copies of my book before people could buy it, this time I had to wait almost a month since the book become avaialble on Amazon and other virtual and physical outlets. The fact I live abroad probably caused most of the delay.
In any case, I really like a lot to keep in my hands a new book I've written for the first time, and this time it even has a distinctively different cover, after so many editions in which it didn't change much. And I have to say I really like it. Sad it was the last Sybex cover for my book series, as the company was bought by Wiley last June, after the book was ready.
What else? I haven't browsed it looking for errors, yet. But I'll do it as soon as I get feedback from readers and translators. And will post updated information on my web site. My plan is to make available a Delphi DeXter chapter as soon as the new product ships and I've had time to study it. I have also plans for other ebooks, but I'll blog about this in the coming weeks. With the limited amount of Delphi 2005 books out (exaclty 1, mine, AFAIK) I keep wondering if people are willing to pay a little for a good quality ebook or it has to be for free... in which case I'm not sure I'll be able to find enough time to write it
