The second day at the CodeRage conference things were more smooth. They tried keeping the local video feed active, but has to resort to audio only, leaving the audio+video to the external site, InterWise (again, download the Windows client for a better experience). Funny enough, after a little while I lost the audio on my main system, and though it was a connection or bandwidth issue. Turned out (after a while) it was a lousy speaker cable!
Anyway, my Fun Side of Delphi presentation was nice, despite a couple of issue in the flash file (like the final red screen). Everything was OK in the original presentation, but after compressing it on my end and further lowering the quality on CodeGear end, audio and video both suffered from time to time. I hope it was understandable. If not, I'll find a way to remaster a file from the original. For the examples, see my yesterday post. By the way, during the talk there were about 240 people on InterWise and 270 in the chat (probably those same 240 plus some). During the questions, I confirmed I'm working on a Delphi 2007 (printed) book. More details will follow.
I followed a couple of other talks (even if not fully) including bob Swart and Ray Konopka). There were no R&D presentations, those will resume today. So, some more work to do and I'll log into the conference in the afternoon. I'm still looking forward for a real conference, but I think this experience is turning out as an interesting one.
