The August 2016 Delphi (and RAD Studio) Roadmap

Embarcadero has published yesterday a new roadmap for Delphi, C++Builder, and RAD Studio, with the current plans for the next 18 months.

 Hi.

All of you are planning a lot of stuff for Delphi and according to 
olderst version of the roadmap the Update 1 for Berlin it was going 
out on June. Right now we are on August there's no news about that.

 I still see some big misunderstandings regarding AD.
You don't "sync" your use database with AD (nor LDAP).
That's the lame solution. You use AD directly, and if
needed you extended the AD schema. If needed AD LSD

is a local AD server when acting on a domain AD schema
is not possible. The whole idea of directory services
is to have a single location for resource storage
(replicated across several machines for resilience),
not to be a source for "syncing".
Any "syncing" just risks not being in sync enough, and
if sensitive data are synced, it can also lead to
security issues.
After sixteen years of directory services, Embarcadero
products still can't fully use them - and it looks
also Embarcadero doesn't understand them at all.

Luigi, RAD Server stored user data. Only the existence of user 
accounts is kept in sync (and you can have more accounts that don't 
match internal users). Security data, passwords, and user data in AD 
is kept there, and its services (including login services are used). In 
fact this is already available today, as a custom RAD Server AD login 
distributed as a demo.

Thank you very much for roadmap update. 

I have a question: Idera now has acquired two companies they both 
have a suite for the advanced logging management: 

Raize with Codesite
Gurock with SmartInspect.

Codesite in this moment is distributed in "lite" edition.

It will be possible in a next update to have one of the two solutions 
in full mode ?
