Next thursday Embarcadero will host a tech preview webinar of the coming version of RAD Studio, Delphi, and C++Builder. If you want to know what's coming in the next version of our products, sign up now at
forms.embarcadero.com/RADXE7FirstLookWebinar
. The webinar will show the new product in action, with extensive demos and technical details.
At this point I guess you'll be wondering which new features are going to be covered and when the product will be announced. For that, you'll have to wait until next week. As you can read in the webinar description:
"Join Embarcadero’s John Thomas and Marco Cantu for this exclusive Tech Preview webinar for RAD Studio to:
-
See new and revolutionary innovations in multi-device development
-
Learn how to easily build and deploy enterprise services
-
Get expert advice on building connected apps..."
What does this exactly mean? At the webinar you'll see a breakthrough in designing multi-device user interfaces... but there is more. What if we also had a brand new parallel programming library you could use on all your existing VCL and FireMonkey applications? Enough said...

As a compiler vendors, you spent too much on
Application layer. The compiler Optimize and improve
is what we need the most. Smart developers will
choose an excellent compiler, and developing all
kinds of application and database on the basis of it.
I don't really need parallel programming library.
Smart developers can do it by themself if compiler
can support. But if compiler has problem.
(
e.g. QC#127122

at-improved-inlining-in-delphi-xe6/2/
)
The developers almost can do nothing, only deeply
felt the compiler they choiced is worse than others.

Stone,
we don't sell a compiler, but an IDE with a compiler, development
tools, libraries for UI and database access and much more. While
the compiler is important and we are committed to improve it, your
perspective is wrong. Turbo Pascal 1.0 wasn't just a compiler...
Victor,
have you tried using the external MS Build option in XE6?
Rodrigo,
wait a few more days...

Maybe i wrong. But if the compiler is not believable.
Who will believe your IDE and the libraries.

Jon,
not sure about the issue, I see a register button quite prominent.
Stone,
the compiler has to be solid, I fully agree. And it needs to be fast
and produce good code, and we are putting efforts in these areas.
However, focusing most of our resources on optimizing the
compilers, compared to the libraries and the IDE I think would be
misguided. All areas are important for the product to be
successful.
