QuickReport and TeeChart for Delphi 2006 Registered Users

Two new freebies are available for Delphi 2006 registered users.

Along with Castalia, CodeHealer, Beyond Compare Differ, and BuilderBooster (see this blog entry), CodeGear has now released two more free add-ins for Delphi 2006 registered users, available in the Delphi registered users download page:

Both tools have been part of Delphi for many editions. Having them available makes it easier to migrate existing application to a newer version of Delphi. For example, many developers migrating Delphi 5 and 6 applications that used QuickReport to Delphi 2006 found they could not simply recompile their program but had to buy a license for the component. Now, of course, this is true every time you use a third party component. But the components you find in the box... well, you might expect to keep finding in the box.

Quick Report may be a good reason *not to* 
upgrade :) Hope version 4 got a lot of 
improvements...

I think this is great thing Quick Reports gets a lot
of bad press but I think it works fine.  It's much
better than the reporting tools supplied in Visual
Studio!  Oh that's right they don't come with any!

Rave, (BDS2006's current reporting tool) has many 
unresolved memory leaks in the  standard BE 
edition.  It's nice to have another option with 
quickreport, and it will make it easier to port 
older Delphi apps (with qr reports) to 2006.

 Thats great!!! No more TeeChart 4.0.2 and it also 
allows TurboDelphi Pro users to download these tools!

 Pay attention the teeChart is not compatible with
the Rave chart unit
