As soon as Google announced Co-op, a few weeks ago, I created a customized search engine by providing a set of Delphi-related web sites (about 10 at the time, about 50 now) and tagging them according to the type of content. Both the sites and the custom tags drive the search, letting it pick some results over others (mine is an open co-op search, the sites I setup come first, but other sites can show up as well). The other think I did right away (on October 27th, to be precise) was to register suitable a domain, thedelphisearch.com, as I felt it was better to avoid putting it on one of my existing domains or using a subdomains.

Over the following two weeks I did some refinements, but decided to wait a little before publishing it, as I was looking for way to automate the search engine configuration using the XML-files exchagne provided by Google... and creating a section of the sites one could use to submit new sites. I've been also wuite busy, delaying the project. However, today I found out through Nick Hodges blog, that Joe Mele of Youseful Software has created a similar Delphi Search Engine hosted at www.delphimagazine.net.

I guess I should talk to Joe...
