In the last week I've been quite busy and not always connected, so I've not been able to blog regularly about all of the news... here is a very short summary, followed by my comments:

At the Brisbane event, a Linux developer asked whether the Delphi for PHP project will end like the Kylix one. Malcolm Groves mentioned PHP is way more used on Linux than a Pascal-language based tool, so it is probably going to be better received by a large community. He also pointed out that the price strategy is slightly different. Kylix was introduced as an expensive tool (actually talking with Allen Bauer I found out the team wanted a much lower price tag, but someone in upper management screwed this up). I also added the fact that VCL for PHP is open source. FreeCLX was never really maintained and open. So, there are 3 relevant reasons why Delphi for PHP can be a success, and at least 2 relevant reasons (there is little you can do for the language) Kylix was mismanaged.

OK, so here is the logo (from Steve Trefethen's site, as I could not find it elsewhere... sorry for the extra traffic!). I'm not sure I like it better than the temporary one, but I might need to get used to it.
