Kind of a false start for Delphi 2007 Update 2 on CodeGear's Developer Network.  Both on DelphiFeeeds.com and on my Google Reader account, I found an article titled: "Readme for Update 2 to C++Builder 2007 and Delphi 2007 for Win32". The description told: "This document contains important information about Update 2 for Delphi 2007 for Win32 and C++Builder 2007. Please read it before installing this update." However the link (http://dn.codegear.com/article/36777), refers to a non-existing article. In other words, the update is not there, but this misstep is a clear sign that it is coming along... don't know when, of course.

As this a short entry, I have time for a couple more links:

  • Steve Peakocke has a post with a nice history of Turbo Pascal and Delphi. Worth reading.
  • Antonio Cangiano posted a comparison of programming languages through their book sales on Amazon. The problem I see it that some languages have multiple best-selling books, while others have only one or two, so taking in account only one book is quite misleading. Notice also that Mastering Delphi 7 is used instead of the much newer Mastering Delphi 2005. It is a fact that at times the older book outsells the newer one (but the number of copies is very limited).
