According to the documents filed by Borland (a public traded company), Embarcadero Technologies bought CodeGear for almost 30 millions, of which 20 millions were in cash. The deal involves the sale of 34 patents pertaining CodeGear business.

A further deal (for an undisclosed amount) between the two companies will let them share further IP rights, let Embarcadero sublease from Borland the CodeGear office space in Scotts Valley, and keep other further services running. Serge has more details and comments in his blog. My thought is everything went quite smooth, as they confirmed the original deal from early May.

Seems they were able to get things moving smoothly in the US, but not in Europe, though. Since the acquisition, they stopped shipping products in this part of the world apparently due to inventory / production / accounting reasons (depending on who you talk to). This is absolutely unbelievable (as they had over a month to get ready!), and not a great start...
