Blaise Pascal Magazine has released a Special Edition issue, originally planned for Turbo Pascal's 25th anniversary, but coming in a few months later. No big deal, as this is a very special issue with 100 pages, which is free in the PDF version (while the magazine is generally for subscription also in its electronic version). The dowload link is just under the cover (but easy to miss...), but you might want to order a printed copy.

This special issue has interviews with Delphi gurus Bob Swart and Nick Hodges, but also with Borland founder Philippe Kahn. There are articles by myself (about my mini Twitter client), Bob Swart (about REM Objects Hydra), Cary Jensen (about Advantage Database Server), Jeremy North (about his tools), and many others. There is also a long session covering All-Access, with an article by Pawel Glowacki and lots of technical information.

At the last minute, the editor pulled in a blog post I wrote last week reporting about the Delphi Live! conference and covering the information that was provided by CodeGear about new features of Delphi they are working on. It is not an actual roadmap, as the title implies, but there is certainly a lot of information about future directions. I'd have been happeir to see a disclaimer coming along with it, but they finsihed the magazine while I was travelling back home. The report is quite precise, in terms of describing what was said, so this is a faithfull independent account (but not a product announcement, as Nick would put it!)

In the magazine there is also a very interesting list of Delphi third party components and tools, which is worth looking at, as you might find interesting tools you had failed to notice. There are also some ads, but I guess this is the only source of revenue (for this non-profit group) to pay for its actual costs.

Well, enough writing... I'll go finish reading the magazine instead!
