Singapore and Rebooting the Inflight Entertainment System
I'm spending a few hours between flights at the Singapore Changi airport. Although I could post more comments on the new CEO, and point out the blog posts by Ben and Michael. Instead, I just want to tell you a funny story.
While on the plane getting here, they had to reboot the entire inflight entertainment system. What I found amusing is taht I could follow the boot sequence of my own device, seeing the Windows CE Boot Loader get its startup data and software from an emulated modem connection (xmodem file download) with a 115K band and than boot. Overall it took well over 15 minutes, as all of the devices where booting and getting their data from the server at the same time. And there were a few hundreds of them in the plane... but I got my film after all.

Still Rebooting?
No, getting a couple of days off during Easter Holidays to spend time with my kids after the long trip. See you in a few days...Comment by Marco Cantù [http://www.marcocantu.com] on April 7, 08:34
