Just saw a reference to an article with the updated Interbase roadmap on http://edn.embarcadero.com/article/40179. While 64-bit support is certainly a significant update, what got my attention was Cloud Deployment support for Interbase 2011, as you can see below (I hope Embarcadero doesn't mind me deep linking the image):

Overall, I think more and more small databases, specifically those powering web applications, are going to live on the cloud, but I'd live to be able to have full synchronization between some views in my big internal DB and the cloud database exposed to the outside.
