Delphi 2010 Survey

A new Delphi survey is available, let Embarcadero hear about your needs and desires

A new Delphi survey is available. It is important that many people fill it to let Embarcadero hear about your needs and desires, even if it takes about 20 minutes to go over is with some care. Over the last few years the survey has been used a a key input element to determine the future direction of the product, I have no doubt it will be highly considered this time as well.

Another interesting element is that by going through the questions you can figure out some of the possible future directions of the products, including those announced (Mac, Linux, 64 bit) and many specific features you might want to push for (O/R mapping, MVC model, native garbage collector, web server technologies, preferred databases, phones you wish to program for...). It looks like a very long wish list on Embarcadero side, on which you can comment and pick your favorites.

So, as soon as you have a few minutes available, go ahead and jump to http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?sm=XrKr27_2bmLfybzGzZi_2brsBQ_3d_3d.

Oh my god! Better they stop doing them then! <G>

Delphi 2010 Survey

Another frustrating survey.

I will totally skew the results if I simply state that
I don't use a feature, without the survey giving me
the opportunity to explain that I WOULD use it if the
feature worked properly!

The previous survey also wasn't fully thought through.

Delphi 2010 Survey

Hmm, was there supposed to be some sort of
confirmation (e.g. a Thank You page) upon completion
of the survey?

When I hit the Finish button after the last page of
questions I was simply redirected to the Delphi
product page...

Delphi 2010 Survey

Hello,

Hope that Embarcadero's GUI experts etc are not
responsible for that very bad user experience.

Especially that Distribute 100 points to fields, was
math task, without any helpers at all. And did not
accept single point error :) Was not that intuitive
User interface, to me anyhow.

Delphi 2010 Survey

My survey ended after page 5 and 29% although I got
imrpession it had 17 pages? When I pressed Next I got
first page. I agree the survey was difficult to fill.
Expecially the very long page that did not display
column headers all the time and you needed to scroll
back and worth.
