Australia: Pictures, Maps, and a Long Swim

For once, I'm moved from the "build" to the "buy" side, and have used free user services to post pictures and a map, rather than adding pages to my own web site. Also, Google is looking for good swimmers...

After my trip to Australia, I posted a selection of my pictures on Google, using Picasa. This is a very easy-to-use alternative to uploading pictures to my own site, creating thumbnails, pages and everything else. As much as this can be automated, using Picasa is really very smooth. And it is free. So here is my Australian Web Album:

2007 Australia

Furthermore, I used the new Google customized maps service to provide a list of places related to the pictures (I know, I could have hooked the pictures to the map, but I didn't have enough time for that). So you can see a list of places I've been to in this map of my Sunshine Coast Tour.

Finally, speaking of maps it was taken to my attention that if you try planning a trip from Europe to the US with Google Maps, they'll suggest you take a good swim, as you can see in this map with direction to get to New York from my home town. Have a look at the step number 32:

Swim across the Atlantic Ocean -- 5,572 km
